Our telemetry shows that many users see an error when opening the Search for documents and Workspaces tabs on the start page. You may also get an error when performing a free text search within a workspace.
Microsoft 365 has an ongoing service insident MO1297751: Some users may not receive results when performing searches in SharePoint Online.
Workaround: You can use favorites to access your workspaces from the start page. If you haven’t bookmarked it yet, try refreshing the workspaces tab. The issue seems not affect all requests all the time. Mark as favorite when you have the chance.
