In some tenants, SharePoint search does not index minor versions of documents, resulting in only showing published versions of documents when searching for documents. Currently approximately 10% of our clients have reported this issue.
By design SharePoint should index minor versions, if “Draft Item Security” = “Any user who can read items”, is applied (default setting in MetaShare).
We have opened a couple of support tickets with Microsoft (26293810 and 25989452), they have been able to reproduce this issue and are looking for a solution. We hope that a quick fix will come within soon.
Status: Microsoft have been able to reproduce this issue and have made changes in the service. if you are experiencing the above problem a re-indexing of the affected document library should now fix it.
