MetaShare Orbit has now been updated with these new features:

  • When creating archiving or deletion rules you can now switch between the previous term-based conditions, what we now refer to as simple rules, and an advanced option where you can write advanced query conditions, using Keyword Query Language (KQL).
  • You can now test your new rules before activating them, by clicking on a “Test rule” button. It will then launch a window displaying the number of documents that match the rule, in which sites they reside in as well as a table with a list of all the documents that match the rule. From this window you will also be able to export the result-list to a csv-file that has more information about the documents, making it possible for you to analyze the results more thoroughly before deciding to publish the rule.
  • MetaShare Orbit’s “Rules” page now has filters, the same way as it previously had in the “Document log” page. The filters that will be shown are: Action (Delete and Move) and State (Draft, Published and Inactive). When opening the page, it will prefilter on Published rules (not showing drafts and inactivated rules).
  • MetaShare Orbit previously only supported the archival of documents of a content type that’s managed/published by SharePoint’s content type hub. Now the app also supports archival of documents that are tagged with local columns, which will automatically be created by MetaShare Orbit in the destination libraries.
  • Some other minor improvements such as restricting users to publish a rule if any of the terms used in the term based conditions have been deleted or if the archive rule’s destination library has been deleted.
