{"id":97621,"date":"2019-11-07T15:44:00","date_gmt":"2019-11-07T14:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.metashare.com\/?p=97621"},"modified":"2023-08-28T09:46:21","modified_gmt":"2023-08-28T07:46:21","slug":"7-november-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/metashare.com\/en\/release-notes\/7-november-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"7 November 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Improved performance, batch download, alert me, search documents from start page, open Microsoft OneNote and Project files in apps<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n<!--noteaser-->\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Improved performance:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We have improved the performance when accessing&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/app.metashare.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">MetaShare\u2019s start page<\/a>, just showing a list of the 50 first workspaces, with continues scroll, similar to how documents are displayed within a workspace. This performance improvement is just noticed for clients that have more than 50 workspaces.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We have improved the performance when opening a MetaShare workspace by first rendering the user interface, showing the list of documents and the available document filters. In the background, the available terms under each of the filters, are fetched from SharePoint. This decreases the time that it takes to access a workspace and most probably all the terms will already be fetched before you open any of the document filters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multiple document download:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Previously you could&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/en\/usermanual\/how-to-download-documents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">download a single document<\/a>&nbsp;using the \u201cDownload\u201d function. We have extended this function to also permit downloads of up to 10 documents at a time:<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"80\" height=\"31\" src=\"https:\/\/metashare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-751.png\" alt=\"MetaShare's &quot;Download&quot; function\"><br>This makes it easier to, for example, add multiple documents as attachments in e-mails.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Document alerts:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be able to mark a document and choose to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/en\/usermanual\/how-to-create-an-alert-for-a-document\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">create an alert for the document<\/a>, by clicking on a new \u201cAlert Me\u201d function:<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"80\" height=\"32\" src=\"https:\/\/metashare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-738.png\" alt=\"MetaShare's &quot;Alert Me&quot; function\"><br>You can then define when to get the notifications:<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"189\" src=\"https:\/\/metashare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-739.png\" alt=\"Define when to get e-mail notifications\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Search for documents directly from MetaShare\u2019s start page:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/app.metashare.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">MetaShare\u2019s start page<\/a>&nbsp;now shows two tabs on the top of the application. The default tab is \u201cWorkspaces\u201d, with the same behavior as before.<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"146\" src=\"https:\/\/metashare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-755.png\" alt=\"MetaShare's start page, with two tabs, Workspaces and Documents\"><br>If you click on the \u201cDocuments\u201d tab, you come to a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/help.metashare.com\/en\/usermanual\/how-to-search-for-documents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">document search function<\/a>, from where you are able to search for documents across your Office 365 environment, the same way as when you click on the link \u201cShow results from other locations\u201d, after having conducted a search within a workspace.<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"162\" src=\"https:\/\/metashare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-754.png\" alt=\"Search for documents directly from MetaShare's start page\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Highlight today\u2019s date in the date picker:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In order to more quickly find the current date, it is now highlighted, when clicking on any date columns in the document property forms:<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"216\" src=\"https:\/\/metashare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-770.png\" alt=\"Today's date highlighted in the date picker\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added terms are automatically added to the available filters:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you add a term in any of the open managed metadata columns (the columns that allow you to add new values), they were not directly shown among the available values under the applicable filter unless you refreshed the page. Now they are automatically added, without the need to refresh the page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increased width of the document property form:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The width of the document property form is now wider, on large screens with high resolution, so that you can see more data within the fields in the form.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increased space between documents on mobile devices:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In order to make it easier to select a document with your fingers, on mobile devices, we have increased the table row height as well as added table borders:<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"353\" src=\"https:\/\/metashare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-756.png\" alt=\"Increased space between documents on mobile devices\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open Microsoft OneNote and Microsoft Project files in client applications:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Previously MetaShare only supported opening OneNote and Project files in their web applications but now you also have the option to open files of these types in their client applications:<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"180\" height=\"112\" src=\"https:\/\/metashare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-740.png\" alt=\"Open Microsoft OneNote files in client applications\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The text \u201cFilters in use\u201d is removed:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We have been displaying the text \u201cFilters in use\u201d, to the left of the search-box:<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"68\" src=\"https:\/\/metashare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-749.png\" alt=\"&quot;Filters in use&quot;, to the left of the search-box\"><br>As it did not add any value and in some cases could be a bit confusing, we have removed this text.
